Celebrating who we are

At our weekly school assembly, we sing the National Anthem. We are learning to sing with pride and show respect. We are learning to celebrate who we are. 


Please support your child by sharing the National  Anthem with them. Exposure will support your child to gradually learn how to sing it in our three offical languages, Maori, English and Sign Language. 

If you have a National Anthem from another country that is important to your family, please do send me the link so we can enjoy it together as a class. jen@nbc.school.nz

We Remember Holy Thursday

 Tomorrow is Holy Thursday and the last day of a wonderful term.  To support the children in their learning, we tried to imagine what it would have been like at the Last Supper. We investigated what plates would have been like in the time of Jesus. The plates would have been made out of clay. They might have had patterns pressed into the rim area.  We made our own plates and created patterns on our plates. We broke bread and shared it with out friends.  Tomorrow we will start the day at Mass. Then we will try some food from the time of Jesus.  Jesus told his friends at the Last Supper that everything would be ok. He told them that at first they would be sad ( on Good Friday ) but on Easter Sunday their hearts would lift and sing with JOY.  May we all feel  joy on  Easter Sunday.
