Dear Families

Each week, a quality picture book is enjoyed in Room 7. This book links in closely with our Better Start reading programme. 


This week, we are listening to discussing and enjoying.... The Cat's Pyjamas.

The sounds that we will focus on are     c     l   and   e .

The new vocabulary that we will focus on:

ocean  or moana

luna

delight


Ask your learner:

How many sounds in cat?      3

 Stretch out the sounds             c     a     t           blend it, ( make it sound like talking )     cat .


What does ocean mean? Make a sentence up together using the word ocean or moana. 


What does luna mean? Try painting a night sky with a luna shining bright!


What does delight mean? What does delightful mean? Make up your best 'delightful day' scenario with your learner. Does your day start with pancakes? Does your day include flying kites? If ...it was a delight to spend time with a friend...did we have fun or not?

    Great blog thank you... love the ideas to incorporate the stories words and sounds that you bare learning in class, and bring them to home learning. Sorry I couldn't be at the meeting tonight.

We Remember Holy Thursday

 Tomorrow is Holy Thursday and the last day of a wonderful term.  To support the children in their learning, we tried to imagine what it would have been like at the Last Supper. We investigated what plates would have been like in the time of Jesus. The plates would have been made out of clay. They might have had patterns pressed into the rim area.  We made our own plates and created patterns on our plates. We broke bread and shared it with out friends.  Tomorrow we will start the day at Mass. Then we will try some food from the time of Jesus.  Jesus told his friends at the Last Supper that everything would be ok. He told them that at first they would be sad ( on Good Friday ) but on Easter Sunday their hearts would lift and sing with JOY.  May we all feel  joy on  Easter Sunday.
